Summary

Literacy Coalition of Central Texas (LCCT) Career Development Services provided adult basic education, preparation for high school equivalency certification, and English as a second language instruction integrated with job readiness and vocational skills training to working-age adults with low skills.

Literacy Coalition of Central Texas (LCCT) Career Development Services provided adult basic education, preparation for high school equivalency certification, and English as a second language instruction integrated with job readiness and vocational skills training to working-age adults with low skills.

Participants focusing on adult basic education or high school equivalence received 50-60 hours of instruction and practice tests. Those focusing on advanced preparation worked with a job coach to complete an individual learning plan and received job readiness training on computer literacy, job etiquette, resume development, and interviewing skills. Services at the time of the evaluation were provided by AmeriCorps members.
